DOG-FRIENDLY PARKS IN SOUTH JORDAN, UT

The Jordan River's meandering course through the Salt Lake Valley passes through South Jordan, a city of 77,000 at roughly 4,400 feet elevation. The Oquirrh Mountains rise to the west, the Wasatch Range to the east, positioning the city in the broad valley between. Desert climate creates cold winters averaging in the low 30s with moderate snowfall, and hot, dry summers reaching the low 90s. South Jordan developed as suburban sprawl from Salt Lake City, with most growth occurring in recent decades. The relatively flat terrain extends north and south along the valley floor.
